Jean-Marc Djian has been appointed as vice president of global footwear at The North Face (TNF), after a similar assignment at the Amer Sports group, the Finnish owner of the Salomon and Arc'teryx brands. Djian reports directly to Arne Arens, TNF's global brand president. Djian was vice president of global product marketing for footwear at Amer Sports for two years until October 2017, leading footwear strategy for Salomon, Arc'teryx and Wilson tennis. But he had been involved with Salomon since 1999 and with Salomon footwear in particular since 2006, implying that he substantially contributed for more than ten years to the expansion of Salomon in trail running as well as the launch of Arc'teryx footwear. In the last year he has run his own consulting business, advising international sports brands.
