Johnathan Nielsen has been confirmed as chief executive of Backcountry.com, starting on March 11. He had been named interim chief executive last December after the former CEO chief executive, Jill Layfield, left in the wake of Liberty Interactive's sale of the American e-commerce company to TSG Consumer Partners last July. The 35-year-old manager joined Backcountry in 2010 to be in charge of corporate development and strategy. He was also in charge of Germany's Bergfreunde after its takeover by Backcountry at the end of 2013.
