Petzl America, the North American subsidiary of Petzl, has appointed Oliver McLeod to a new position as manager of the company's new Petzl Technical Institute (PTI) in Clearfield, Utah, which will develop and deliver technical training programs in verticality for its network of so-called Petzl Technical Partners, or PTPs. These are training organizations, independent sales reps and end users including rock climbers, rope access technicians, rescue professionals, arborists, cavers, etc. A former PTP himself, McLeod has been working as training and operations director at Bonsai Designs, a company in Grand Junction, Colorado that designs adventure courses. He developed training programs and risk management systems at Bonsai. He was also a key consultant for a massive Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of America. He previously worked with Nicros, a builder of climbing walls. McLeod will move with the whole Petzl America team to the French company's new American head office and training center in West Valley, Utah, in the spring of this year.
