Timberland hired Drieke Leenknegt in June to be its vice president of global marketing and join its global leadership team. She is succeeding Argu Secilmis, who has become vice president of global apparel. Leenknegt will be liaising with the brand’s marketing regional teams, in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA) and reporting to the global brand president. The Global Brand Strategy, Global Environments and Global Brand Communications teams, in turn, will be reporting to her. Leenknegt has spent nearly her entire career with Nike, where she was hired in 1999. She was most recently Nike’s global vice president of influencer marketing & collaborations, working out of Portland, Oregon, but she served also at various posts – ranging from communications, design and marketing to brand directorships – in China, the Netherlands and Belgium.
