Implus Corp. and Berkshire Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, have appointed Sally McCoy and Chris L. Shimojima as members of Implus' board of directors. Implus, headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, is a provider of athletic, fitness and outdoor accessories brands including Perfect Fitness, Harbinger, TriggerPoint, Yaktrax, FuelBelt, Sof Sole, and Sneaker Balls, among others. McCoy is currently the lead independent director for Zumiez, and has more than 30 years of experience in the specialty outdoor and active lifestyle industries. She has previously served as president and chief executive of CamelBak, vice president at The North Face and president of Sierra Designs and Ultimate Direction. She is also a founding member of the Conservation Alliance and Outdoor Industry Association (OIA). Shimojima served for six years as Nike's vice president of global digital commerce, presiding over the NikeID mass customization business across 24 countries. Prior to that, he was responsible for Sears' direct-to-consumer online channels. Most recently, he was chief executive of Provide Commerce, a specialty online retailer, which was sold in 2015 to FTD Group. Shimojima is also a board member at Aurora Health Care, and is an executive mentor and selection committee member for EvoNexus, a start-up incubator.
