Bestard Mountain Boots is warning consumers of a fraudulent website that pretends to be the official website of the brand. It is not the first time that the Spanish company has suffered from an identity theft. The false domains typically plagiarize Bestard's logo and images, and offer products at “ridiculously low” prices, the company explained. The objective of these websites is to partake in “phishing” – that is, the illicit collection of buyers' credit-card numbers. In most cases, and in addition to phishing, customers will receive either a product that has nothing to do with the chosen boot or else nothing at all.
