Cocona has filed a request for a declaratory U.S. court judgment that its patented 37.5 technology does not infringe on two U.S. patents held by a producer of bed sheets and sleepwear, Sheex. The latter had filed two lawsuits in a federal U.S. court against Cocona last Nov. 12, alleging patent infringement through several products. The case was ultimately dismissed, but Sheex preserved the right to re-assert its claims against the company. Cocona points out that it licenses its proprietary 37.5 technology, but doesn't make bed sheets. Furthermore, its technology applies to the yarn, not to the method by which the sheets are sewn.
