Helinox, the Korean brand of tents and camping furniture, has become a full member of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), after it invested to set up its own organization for the European market. Helinox described the move as a sign that it intended to take an active part in the European outdoor trade community. As previously reported, Helinox started building up its European organization last year. It recently announced plans to expand its European subsidiary, Helinox Europe BV, with Andrew Shand as chief executive for Europe and Sally McCoy as executive board chair. The EOG welcomed Helinox as a dynamic and ambitious brand that clearly shares the association's aims and objectives. Another membership was taken by Dongah Aluminum Co. (DAC), the South Korean manufacturer of Helinox products, which is under the same ownership.
