Ortovox has issued a recall for its 3+ avalanche transceivers. Safety Academy, a non-profit trade association, has discovered an apparent glitch in version 2.1 of the transceivers' software that can cause the devices to stop transmitting, and so potentially interrupt rescue searches. Ortovox cautions that there have been no known accidents in the field and that only 3+ transceivers running with version 2.1 software are affected. Instructions for updating to version 2.2 are on the Ortovox website.
