Pentland Brands welcomed the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, and Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, to its global headquarters in London on July 25. The visit by the Conservative and Liberal Democrat party leaders was part of an exercise to see examples of flourishing British businesses. Pentland is a third-generation family company which counts, Berghaus, Boxfresh, Canterbury, Ellesse, Kangaroos and Speedo among its brands. The company has experienced a sales growth of 18 percent and 33 percent in the U.K. and worldwide, respectively, over the past five years. The firm sells its products in almost 200 countries. Its research & development, product design and creative marketing are all originated in the U.K. During the visit, both the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister spoke to a number of employees, including interns and recent graduates.
