Scarpa has announced its victory in a patent infringement suit that was launched against it in November 2010 by another Italian company, La Sportiva. The suit attacked four models of hiking and trekking shoes sold by Scarpa – the “Mont Blanc GTX,” the “Mont Blanc GX WMN,” the “Grand Dru GTX” and the “Grand Dru GTX WMN.” After checking with a consultant, a court in Milan ruled last February that there had been no violation of La Sportiva's rights. No appeal has been requested since then.
