The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (Fesi) is going to ask the European Union and the member governments to help fund national programs to encourage youth to practice sports along the lines of “Dote in Movimento,”a project that has been successfully led by the Italian sporting goods industry association, Assosport. Fesi also wants to be involved in the planning and execution of the “ European Week of Sport,” a European program proposed by the European Commission that should be held in September 2015. These and other projects are due to be debated by the sports ministers of the member countries at an informal preliminary meeting during a series of conferences on the sports industry in Rome on Oct. 22-24 and a more formal meeting in the framework if the European Sports Forum in Milan on Dec. 1-2.
