Victorinox, the Swiss-based maker of the famous Swiss Army knife, and Armasuisse, the military procurement agency for Switzerland, have settled their dispute over the rights to the trade name “Swiss Military” in the U.S. In particular, the settlement gives Armasuisse exclusive rights to market fragrances there under the “Swiss Military” brand. Victorinox, meanwhile, will continue to market its own numerous fragrances – such as Steel, Rock and Mystique Forest – under the “Swiss Army” brand. Victorinox has been a supplier to Switzerland's armed forces since 1891.
