Oase Outdoors started the year with a relatively weak quarter, as its sales were nearly flat at 105 million Danish kroner (€14.1m-$16.4m) and its operating margin (Ebitda) shrank by 3.2 percentage points to 18.0 percent. Oase Outdoors is the Danish group specializing in tents and other camping gear with the Outwell, Robens and Easy Camp brands. Oase is owned at 78 percent by Ratos, the Swedish investment firm, which bought into the formerly family-owned group nearly two years ago. Ratos explained in its interim report that earnings were affected by ongoing investments in growth initiatives and product development. The group launched an e-commerce platform for the Outwell brand in April.
