Oboz, the U.S. outdoor footwear company, moved to larger headquarters in Bozeman, Montana, at the start of October. As the company continues to expand, it moved from a former cobbler's shop to a renovated building in downtown Bozeman, a former cold storage facility that currently houses a mix of companies and organizations. The move comes as Oboz is growing rapidly, its workforce expanding from eight to 14 employees in about a year. Oboz, which started retailing in the U.S. in 2008, has been growing mostly through key accounts and specialty retailers. It has also been targeting independent footwear stores in second-tier cities, which are often under served by outdoor brands. Its foreign distribution so far focuses on Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the U.K., Taiwan and Israel, along with several countries in Central and South America. Oboz also distinguishes itself as a carbon-neutral company, which has pledged to plant a tree for every pair sold, through the Trees for the Future organization.
