Brunton has identified a potential risk of fire in certain energy storage systems sold as Brunton Charger Impel and/or Brunton Charger Impel 2. These lithium polymer batteries have a capacity of 13,000 mAh at 12 volts. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other regulatory agencies, the outdoor tech brand is voluntarily recalling and offering full refunds for these batteries. Under rare conditions, these batteries could overheat and therefore combust and cause a risk of fire. Potentially affected products were sold between 2011 and 2015. Two incidents with the battery have been reported to date. Consumers, retailers and other organizations who have any stock of Brunton Charger Impel or Impel 2 should immediately contact Brunton at 1-800-443-4871 or by email to info@bruntongroup.com. Meanwhile, the company said it will contact all known consumers and retailers who have bought these products with a recall letter.
