Ceramiq, a French brand with a range of base layers made from volcanic stone, intended for running and outdoor sports, is expanding its offering with a cycling apparel range. The company behind the brand is HT Concept from the Vosges area. The membrane developed by the firm is made from volcanic stone that is heated to 1,600 degrees, then turned into powder in a cryogenic crushing machine and mixed with a polyurethane binding material. The membrane is used by several specialist brands such as Picture Organic, a fast-growing French ski apparel label, but HT Concept recently launched its own brand. Ceramiq was taking part in the OutDoor fair for the first time this year, as part of the joint Camp de Base section for a group of innovative French companies. While Ceramiq already has agents in Germany and Finland, it has started searching for partners in other countries.
