Ecco has won the German Design Council’s annual German Design Award in the “Excellent Product Design” category for its Biom 2.0 trail shoe and its Exowrap all-terrain sandal. The overall competition for the awards consisted of more than 5,400 projects from 63 countries. The Biom 2.0 is a hybrid urban and outdoor sneaker with the company’s Natural Motion, low-profile design and a barefoot-running feel. It will retail at $180 to $200 as of Feb. 1. The Exowrap is meant to be lightweight and has a Phorene foot bed. It will retail $130 to $140 from March 1.
