Grivel, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, has unveiled its first mountaineering helmets featuring Recco reflectors. The Recco system comprises two parts: a rescue reflector, integrated into sports equipment, and a Recco detector, which is used by rescuers to locate the person wearing the reflector. The new Stealth and Stealth HS mountaineering helmets by Grivel featuring an integrated Recco reflector will be available starting this autumn. The Stealth helmet only weighs 198 grams, and is hyper-ventilated. The Stealth HS is the hard-shell version, for increased durability. A pilot program to test these products was launched in February with the Courmayeur Mountain Guide Association.
