Houdini Sportswear is launching the new Power Air Houdi, a fleece jacket that is said to shed only a fraction of the fibers that conventional fleece sheds. The product, which is being launched today, is the result of an innovation project in collaboration with Polartec. The fleece jacket uses the new Polartec Power Air, described as the first fabric technology engineered to reduce microfiber shedding. According to Houdini, the Power Air Houdi sheds five times fewer microfibers than other high-quality fleece and only a fraction compared to regular fleece, an important step to limit microfiber release into the oceans. The Power Air fabric is Bluesign-certified and made from 54 percent recycled polyester. This means that it prevents plastic waste while also being built from used plastics, explained Houdini.
