Lafuma will present its first collection of sleeping bags entirely designed in the U.S. at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City in August. The French company began to integrate designs from the United States into its sleeping bag collections last season, when it commissioned Jason Belaire, owner and designer of Enfoque Design in Denver, Colorado, for six synthetic sleeping bags. Shortly afterward, the company decided to move all designs to the U.S. in an attempt to produce a more homogenous collection, compared with the time in which design was being done in both the U.S. and France. Lafuma has also added a new segment called the Tour de Mont Blanc (TMB), geared toward the car camping audience. Founded in 1930 by French brothers Victor, Alfred and Gabriel Lafuma, the company is distributed in more than 60 countries around the world in all continents.
