Lifesaver, the British manufacturer of portable and reusable water filtration systems, has announced the launch of a compact product for community and off-grid water purification. The new C1 is capable of producing nearly 500,000 liters of clean water while coming in a lightweight and portable package. The product measures around 91cm long and around 10cm tall, and can easily be transported and installed in remote communities. Furthermore, multiple C1 units can be chained together, running from the same source. Like all of Lifesaver's ultrafiltration products, the C1 is said to effectively remove 99.9999 percent of bacteria, 99.99 percent of microbial cysts, such as cryptosporidium or giardia, and 99.99 percent of viruses from water supplies, without requiring any chemicals or electricity.
