Merrell, part of Wolverine Worldwide, is the official supplier of the Skyrunner World Series. Trail running is still one of the fastest-growing segments of the outdoor industry and remains an absolute focus for the brand in 2020. The cooperation with one of the world’s most popular trail running event series is, therefore, a strategic decision. To start the season, Merrell has added new trail running athletes to its Test Lab, the brand’s athletic team, which is equipped with the brand’s trail running shoes that were developed together with well-known runners, such as Ragna Debats.
The Skyrunner World Series consists of 16 races planned in 13 countries in 2020. As in previous years, the world’s best trail running athletes are expected to participate. Due to the global effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, the event organizers have decided that no race of the 2020 circuit, originally scheduled to start in April, will be held before the end of July. As for now, the upcoming season is set to start with Skyrace Comapedrosa in Spain and Andorra on July 26.
