Ortovox has announced a precautionary product recall for Version 2.1 of the running software for its 3+ avalanche transceivers. Feedback from its Safety Academy Partners has revealed that a temporary disruption of the transmission function can occur in some very rare situations, due to a software error. Pointing out that there have been no known accidents caused by this error, Ortovox says the devices affected by the recall may no longer be used without the necessary software update.
