Pertex, known for its lightweight but durable performance fabrics, has announced the launch of a new fabric technology called CS10, which is claimed to offer increased abrasion and water resistance. CS10 technology uses yarns with unique diamond shaped filaments that tightly lock together to provide a stable construction and give the fabrics high abrasion resistance, along with enhanced water beading properties. According to Pertex, fabrics featuring CS10 technology have more than twice the abrasion resistance of fabrics made with traditional circular filament yarns. Outdoor brands including Berghaus, Montane, Mammut, Peak Performance and Salewa will be offering new outdoor apparel using Pertex with CS10 technology at retail starting in autumn/winter 2016. Pertex with CS10 technology will be presented at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City on Jan. 7–10, 2016, and Ispo Munich on Jan. 24-27, 2016.
