Toray, the Japanese company, whose core segments are based on fibers, textiles, plastics and chemicals, has introduced a new soft compression wear that combines comfort and functional features. With the new innovation, compression clothing can be taken out of the triathlon corner and placed in every sporting goods section. The base layer can expand in a 360-degree radius with equal stretch in length and width, which has not been possible before. Toray designed and built its own knitting machine for the new soft compression wear, which includes a Lycra soft comfort fiber as an additive to the thread. The first commercial partner, Kjus, plans to introduce the “Withit Soft Compression Wear” in summer 2012.
