Vaude and its chief executive, Antje von Dewitz, continue to collect awards. The German company was recognized as one of the 11 best European companies out of more than 33,000 candidates from 34 countries, winning a European Business Award for environmental and corporate sustainability. It received the award from a jury in Dubrovnik after being selected as one of the 30 “national champions” from Germany. On a personal basis, two days later Von Dewitz received the Order of Merit from the Minister President of the state of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretchsmann, for the sustainable, fair and environment-friendly approach of her management. She was one of the 22 recipients of the annual award. Among other awards, Vaude had been named as Germany's most sustainable brand in 2015.
