Working in collaboration with two other organizations, Eurosima and Sporaltec, Outdoor Sports Valley has sponsored and published the first research study on ceramics-lined garments, comparing their effect during exercise to placebo garments. The purpose was to determine whether ceramics-lined apparel modifies skin temperature, improving the feeling of comfort, and whether it optimizes muscle oxygenation and microcirculation of muscles and the skin, improving physical performance. The reason for the project was a verdict issued by French authorities in 2012 against several companies for making claims related to ceramics-based products without scientific proof. The study has been published in French and English. It is available to OSV members at half price. Smaller firms get a discount.
