Sport Guide reports that Au Vieux Campeur, the leading French outdoor retail specialist, is to set up shop in at least one more French city this year, and possibly two. The French publication indicates that Au Vieux Campeur should have another store in Strasbourg in February, on a surface of 130 square meters, across from the current store of 1,100 square meters. Au Vieux Campeur currently boasts 43 stores, although some of them are small locations specializing in specific product categories – and in the case of Paris, where the retailer has 27 stores, they are mostly clustered in the same neighborhood. Jacques-Yves de Rorthays, who leads the privately-owned retail group, also confirmed to Sport Guide that the purchasing department at Au Vieux Campeur was to be reorganized and centralized again at its offices in Massy, near Paris.
