In a move that resembles the pull-out of Sport Eybl from Intersport Austria a few years ago, before its sale to Sports Direct International, Bründl Sports, one of the major Austrian sports retailers, has decided to stop working with Intersport Austria, as of next Sept. 1 (more in the Jan. 28 issue of SGI Europe). On the other hand, Intersport's master licensee in Russia has thrown in the towel, shutting down all its stores in the country (more in the Feb. 1 issue of SGI Europe, which will also have an interesting, exclusive story on Sportmaster and more about the Russian sports market).
