Marmot has opened its first single-brand franchised store in the U.K. in partnership with Adventure Peaks, a British outdoor retailer that also organizes expeditions. Located at Ambleside in the Lake District National Park, the store has a selling surface of 180 square meters. Adventure Peaks has created an “Ambleside Cave” directly above the shop. This contraption is described as Britain's first man-made indoor cave, with tunnels as long as 70 meters. The shop is Marmot's second in the U.K. after opening a corporate store in London a few months ago. The American outdoor brand also runs a proprietary store in Nuremberg, Germany and has two more points of sale in Western Europe that are operated by independent retailers in Italy, one at Finale Ligure and the other in Bolzano. The Russian distributor of the brand, Mountech, had opened two monobrand Marmot stores in Russia earlier this year, one in Moscow and the other one in St. Petersburg. One more Marmot partnership store is set to open in Riga, Latvia, later this year.
