The last seven Ultimo Outdoor stores operating in Norway will be closing their doors soon. This means that 32 stores belonging to the Norwegian sports retail chain will have been closed and their 110 employees will have lost their jobs since the beginning of 2013. The 32 stores generated a turnover of 80 million Norwegian kroner (€9.83m-$12.91m) last year. In an interview with Sportsbransjen, the chief executive of Ultimo Outdoor, Per Arne Arnesen, described the move as a voluntary liquidation procedure after three years of solid losses and declining sales. What will happen to the company's name, Ultimo Outdoor, is a little uncertain, he added, indicating it may be used in one form or another in the future.
