A two-day seminar on textile recycling will take place in Tourcoing, in the north of France, on Feb. 5-6, 2014. CETI, the European Centre for Innovative Textiles, based in Tourcoing, is one of the organizers of the event. The research body, founded in 2012, is the world's most recent research and prototyping center dedicated to new textile applications. The center works closely with the network of technical textile companies that operate on either side of the France-Belgium border, where Tourcoing is located. The upcoming seminar will bring together experts, scientists, business figures and policy-makers with an interest in the management of textile waste. Debates will cover, in particular, the collection, sorting, recovery and innovative re-use of used textiles.
