(Already published in the Asia Outdoor issue) The Russian Outdoor Group (ROG), which brings together some of the leading companies in this market, is organizing for the first time a specialist trade fair for retail buyers at the Sokolniki park in Moscow on July 24-26. The ROG reports that 21 exhibitors representing more than 80 brands have registered for the Outdoor Business Show, from large-scale distributors like Alpindustria, Mountech and Kant to foreign brands like Bergans, which started investing abundantly in the Russian market last year after it opened its subsidiary in Saint Petersburg. Several get-togethers for Russian outdoor and mountain sports companies have been organized in the past, such as a small fair organized by Alpine House in Saint Petersburg, but the ROG said that the upcoming event was the first more structured and specific order-taking fair held in Moscow. More than 150 visitors have registered in the last weeks and the organizers hope that the numbers will increase to more than 200. The practical aspects of the fair are organized by Mountech, the Russian distributor of Marmot, Black Diamond, Garmont, Gregory, Keen and a dozen other outdoor brands. The show has its own website at www.outdoor-show.ru.
