For the first time, Ispo Munich is giving out awards for the most impressive efforts in communication. The lucky winners have already been announced, and the awards ceremony will be held at the show on Feb. 4. A jury picked 26 winners, nine gold winners, and from them, one overall winner. The overall prize for “communication of the year” goes to an outdoor company, Mammut, for its multi-channel campaign around the celebration of the outdoor brand's 150th anniversary. One of the gold winners is Black Diamond for “Flat Sucks,” the best print advertisement of the year. Other gold winners from the outdoor industry are: Garmin for its use of social networks such as Facebook; Hansi Heckmair for the best photographs shot for Salewa; Skylotec, the climbing gear company, for the best corporate design; and Deuter for visuals.
