Tashi Sherpa, president of Sherpa Adventure Gear, will be among the speakers at a conference organized by the Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) of the U.K. in connection with its annual general meeting. A member of the British Parliament, Rory Stewart, and Richard Leafe, chief executive of the Lake District National Park, have also been signed up as keynote speakers in addition to Andrew Denton, the dynamic CEO of the British OIA. There will also be interactive workshops and panel discussions. Moving to a larger venue than before thanks to the support of Cumbria Tourism and Lowe Alpine, the conference will be held on March 17 and 18 at the Low Wood Bay Hotel in the Lake District. Participation in the conference has increased in the past two years. It pulled some 150 delegates last March, when it was held in Yorkshire.
