A Pinterest 100 report has revealed that customers will emphasize environmentally friendly products and ’90s designs in 2020. The report compared search queries on its platform from August 2017 to July 2018 with queries from August 2018 to July 2019 and from the data predicts the 100 trends that should be the most popular in 2020. There will be a surge in “conscious consumption” and a preference for DIY solutions whenever they are available. In addition to second-hand attire, customers will be focusing on handicrafts and objects made from marine waste; this grew by 38 percent over the period under consideration. Next year will also see a revival in styles that were popular in the ’90s. For example, hair bands were 6309 percent more popular then than in 2018. Grunge fashion and streetwear grew as well by 292 percent and 277 percent. It is no surprise that these Y2K outfits have found their ways into pop culture.
