Bob Swanson, one of the original founders of Sierra Designs, has passed away. Swanson founded the company in 1965 with George Marks, naming it after the outdoor playground he knew in California. The two friends considered that camping and backpacking should be about healthy fun, with the use of appropriate equipment enhancing the experience rather than overwhelming the outdoor enthusiast. The company is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, and creates outdoor equipment and technology-driven apparel.
