Downlite, a major manufacturer of down, feather and synthetic bedding products, and Nikwax have signed an agreement under which Nikwax will ensure that PFC is not used in any part of the manufacturing process for Downlite's products, including fills for outerwear and sleeping bag manufacturers. The company will use Nikwax' Hydrophobic Down (NHD) process, which also permits Zero Hazardous Discharge, while keeping sleeping bags and other products still waterproof after five washes. The down will be ethically sourced. Downlite is a Bluesign system partner and a member of the American Down & Feather Council (ADFC).
