Garmont is committed to the defense of the rhino through a dedicated project, called Save the Rhino, in collaboration with the Global Conservation Corps (GCC). Few rhinos survive in the wild, and they are under constant threat from poachers. Representatives from Garmont and the GCC will be debating the issue at Rome's zoo, Bioparco di Roma, on Oct. 10. As part of the project, Garmont delivered the boots to the rangers of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in South Africa in July. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the number of rhinos that have been killed have increased from 60 in 2006 to 1,124 in 2017.
