Greenpeace has resumed its Detox Campaign, clearly targeting the snow and outdoor sector. It has sent its people on an expedition to seven mountains around the world to collect water and snow samples and test them for traces of PFCs. The organization has been calling on outdoor performance brands to stop using these chemicals to waterproof their gear. Many of them have responded with commitments to eliminate them sooner or later. Last month, more than 200 scientists from 38 countries signed the so-called Madrid Statement, calling for their eliminationfrom the production of all consumer products.
