Klättermusen applies production process that reduces microplastics

Thanks to a special method of production, the Swedish outdoor label Klättermusen manages to reduce the amount of potential microplastic in the manufacture and life of the new Njorun midlayer. During the so-called “in loop stitch” method, the recycled polyester is woven and the loops are not cut, as is usually done, which significantly reduces fabric waste. The method binds the fibers more tightly together, which reduces the amount of micro-particles that are flushed out during washing. Klättermusen is also tackling the issue of microplastics with another strategy: All T-shirts and base-layers known to be most frequently washed as well as fleece jackets are either completely made of organic cotton or organic merino wool or contain mixtures of synthetic and organic fibers. This also considerably reduces the amount of micro-particles.
