Patagonia decided to closes all stores in the U.S. on Election Day, Nov. 8, in order to encourage employees, customers and citizens to go out and vote. The California-based outdoor company has urged citizens to vote since 2004. In September, Patagonia kicked off the Vote Our Planet campaign, focused on educating citizens on how to use their vote to help protect the planet. The company has also launched a website with educational resources for voters and released videos on local communities ravaged by environmental problems.
