Pontetorto has announced that its factory in Prato, in Tuscany, is now generating all the energy it needs from solar panels and is operating independently of the public electricity network. The Italian maker of activewear fabrics has set up a network of 7,000 solar cells covering an area of 10,000 square meters on the roof of its plant in Prato. In a recent statement, Pontetorto claimed that this network now has the capacity to provide enough energy for all areas of the factory, including both production and administration.
