Textile Exchange and the European Outdoor Group will present the new Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) to the outdoor industry on July 14, during the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen. Like the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), the RWS is intended to provide a global benchmark for animal welfare and land management practices in sheep farming. For example, it wants to ensure that wool comes from responsibly treated sheep and from farms that have a progressive approach to managing their land. The new standard has been developed over many months, involving the EOG and, more directly, a wide variety of individual stakeholders.
