The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) has granted its “Best Practice Award” to three outdoor and sportswear companies, Odlo, Mammut and Schöffel because they “boost impact through collaboration.” The non-profit organization praised the brands' efforts to cooperate with one another and to provide outstanding examples of how to improve working conditions in their own factories and/or affiliated manufacturing partners in their respective supply chains. The foundation said that, for relatively small companies like these, collaboration is the key to the major challanges faced by FWC member firms. Last year, the three companies' production facilities underwent joint audits to implement the FWF code of labor practices in the most efficient way possible. The award winners are selected every year at the foundation's annual members' conference. It was said that Odlo, Mammut and Schöffel could serve as role models for the entire outdoor industry. In addition to the trio, the jury had nominated two other companies to receive the FWF award: HempFortex for “social dialogue” and Switcher for its “Workers solidarity fund Bangladesh.”
