The Salford Biospheric Project has been named one of the five “Green Champions” of the Green Apple Built Environment Awards 2014, ahead of some 100 other nominees. The initiative is backed by Craghoppers, the U.K. brand of outdoor apparel, which supports the Salford team with equipment. The Salford project is researching farming in urban areas and sustainable food in the Manchester region.
