The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation has announced that bluesign has joined as a Level 3 ZDHC Accepted Certifier for conformance to the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL). The “bluefinder,” a catalogue of chemical products operated by bluesign, will now be recognized as an accepted certification standard for Level 3 conformance to the ZDHC's MRSL on the ZDHC Gateway Chemical Module, a database for safer, more sustainable and innovative chemistry used in apparel, textile, leather and footwear production. The ZDHC Gateway Chemical Module currently includes nearly 10,000 chemical products at different levels of ZDHC MRSL conformance. ZDHC does not have its own certification system to indicate conformance to the ZDHC MRSL but works with existing certifications as indicators of conformance.
