Canada Goose reports that it has won a case before a Stockholm court against five Swedes accused of brand rights infringements, fraud and violation of customs directives. Two of the accused have been jailed and given fines of altogether 701,000 Swedish kronor (€80,770-$104,800). Apparently, the five crooks brought thousands of fake Canada Goose jackets, which were produced in Thailand, into Sweden from 2009 till 2012. The main person accused was arrested in Bangkok in May and was extradited to Sweden. The court said that product piracy is a significant problem for the European economy and estimates that even some 10 percent of all products traded inside the EU may be fakes.
