Bergans has equipped a polar adventurer, Eric Larsen, with apparel to support his latest, incredible adventure: The explorer left Hercules Inlet on Dec. 13 to travel to the South Pole ? on a mountain bike. His bicycle features 5-inch tires to ease the expedition, which will be a round trip of 1,500 miles. Larsen's attempt is not just meant to be an extreme tour; he also wants to promote the bicycle as the appropriate tool to protect the environment. During his trip, Larsen will share films and other material on social networks and on his website, ericlarsenexplore.com, where users have the opportunity to donate money to charity organizations of their choice.
